WHO I AM
My name is Will, and I'm an independent game designer and environment artist from Ohio.
My path into game development wasn’t straightforward. After graduating high school in 2011, I joined the U.S. Army and served as an artilleryman from 2011 to 2014, including a deployment to Afghanistan. After leaving the Army, I decided to pursue something I’d been interested in for a long time: making video games.
I went to Full Sail University and earned a B.S. in Game Art, followed by an M.S. in Game Design. Since then, I’ve worked across several areas of game development, including level design, environment art, game development, and game testing.
Over the years, I’ve worked on other people’s games, built environments and levels, tested games, learned new tools, experimented with different ideas, and gradually developed my own approach to game development.
Eventually, I realized that I didn’t just want to work on games that other people were making. I wanted to make my own.
WHY ROACH CLIP GAMES EXISTS
Roach Clip Games was established as a way for me to take everything I’ve learned and start building games on my own terms. I wanted a place where I could experiment with ideas that might be too strange, too small, too specific, or simply too weird for a traditional studio. I wanted to be able to make a game because I thought it was interesting—not because it fit a particular market trend.
WHAT I’M BUILDING
The first Roach Clip Games project is currently in alpha development and will be the studio’s first release. It’s the beginning of something much larger than a single game. My goal is to gradually build Roach Clip Games into a sustainable independent studio where I can continue creating games, collaborate with other developers and artists, and eventually take on larger projects.
We specialize in gritty, environmental horror experiences that prioritize tension and isolation over cheap jump scares. Our goal is to create tactile, analog worlds that feel like they have a history—even if that history is one you'd rather not uncover.
What started as a one-person exploration of environment art has grown into a full-scale creative operation. We are focused on expanding our reach, collaborating with like-minded weirdos, and pushing the boundaries of what indie horror can be.
